Greetings & salutations! Did you know that “6th of October” (السادس من أكتوبر) is a city in the urban area of Cairo, Egypt? Well now you do! Also on this day in 1927, The Jazz Singer was released, the first feature-length motion picture with both synchronized recorded music score as well as lip-synchronous singing and speech, thus ending the silent film era.
